Santa Maria Golf and Country Club
For some, this course offers the best greens on the Costa del Sol.Up the mountain, within the municipality of Benahavís, a small village behind Marbella, and built on a very hilly land, it is considered by many challenging players as a temptation in the midst of the most spectacular scenery. Its design, by Málaga born José Gancedo, skilfully done, fits the orography and has a total of six bridges connecting the tees with the fairways, and these with the greens. Due to the lie of the land, the course has a fair amount of ups and downs, but these same characteristics make it an invitation for players who like taking risks.It also shows some peculiarities, like the par-four 7th hole that gives the choice to use any club.
